On the rise of the 3rd century the Frankish people spoke the same
language as most other Germanic tribes. This language was
constructed over time by a specific type of Germanic reflex
languages. All of these carefully crafted languages mostly derived
from Latin roots. Most of the Germanic languages stayed the same up until the 6th
century when a phonetic change took place called the High
German Consonant shift". The shift not only affected the Frankish
but continued to make gigantic influences South of the Rhine river.
This newly created language was created by the Franks who were
by this time more independent. In the later shifts throughout the following centuries the Frankish language seemed to split into an early version of the two modern languages, German and Dutch. Eventually, the modern French language that is now the modern language of France, originated from the Frankish province Neustria. Over time this language mutated into French.

There are hardly any artifacts used as proof of this time period. The reason for this is because it is the very first official period of Art for the Frankish people. Around the beginning of the 3rd century the Roman Empire was close to a collapse. A great influence of Frankish armies were a part of the Roman military at this time which caused a lot of artwork to actually resemble weapons used in that century up until the 4th. Christianity also played a huge role in the cultural art of this Germanic tribe. A lot of Christian Franks constructed art relating to the Christian religion. Over doing this concept artist's block eventually led artist to different styles of art such as Animal style and Poly-chrome style.
Religion (Christianity)

As an early Germanic tribe the Franks did not really have a specific religion themselves but tended to use the religion of the group that had conquered them. Paganism was their only real religion before their conversation. Paganism was a type of Germanic Polytheism created by he tribes themselves. This happened up until Clovis brought everything together and decided to convert to Christianity although it took quite a lot of time and effort. After a great victory upon the Alemanni during the battle of Tolbiac, Clovis was baptized by St, Remi alongside 300 f his own soldiers. Part of his conversion was his Catholic wife named Clotilda in 493. Along with his recent victory and wanted to convert himself. Marrying Clotilda automatically strengthened the Frankish relationship with the catholic church. Eventually Clovis influenced Christianity deep enough in the Frankish people so that one of the first churches were created for worship. The most popular church the Frankish Church of Merovingians.
